Free Music?
Free Music?
Yes, that's right. If you like a piece of music, and you want to download the score and parts, then you can do so free of charge. I would however ask you to make a donation to a charity of your choice, but whether you do or not is entirely up to you. Amount? You know how much music costs these days, so I would suggest £3 - £5 would be reasonable. My preferred charity is Alzheimer's: you can link to it here
Although the music is free, I would ask you to respect the copyright on all the pieces, and download only for the use of your own band. No reselling, please.
Viewing and printing scores

The scores have all been prepared using Sibelius software. This means you can see the scores and listen to them in MIDI simply by clicking on the title in the Catalogue page.
If you follow that link, and decide you want to print the score and/or a set of parts, you will find a further link to PDFs at the bottom of the Sibelius score. Click that, and you will open a page with hyperlinks to PDF files of the score and all the parts. These links should only open up one copy of each part, so if you need multiple copies - for example of cornets or basses - then use the controls of your printer programme to oblige.
You can then return to the catalogue page using the hyperlink at the foot of that "PDF" page.

Prefer to Buy?
I realise that some people might prefer to purchase a set of music outright. In that case, just drop me an email (chrisbrown00@btinternet.com) and I'll deal with your request. The cost of each set is £15 inc P + P.
Midi files and Audio files
You can "play" the scores via the Scorch reader, and hear the music rendered in electronic "midi". This is a poor approximation of true instrumental sound, but at least it gives you a feel for the sound of the music. I've also included a few audio tracks of some pieces so that you can hear "the real thing" played by some excellent bands. Go here to access these files. They are big and will take some time to download!

I'm Chris Brown,
I live near Glasgow in Scotland, and played cornet for many years with
Clydebank Burgh Band and with the CWS
(Glasgow) Band.
I've also conducted a number of bands in Central Scotland, including Coalburn Silver, Cumbernauld, Galston, Newmilns, Newtongrange, Newmains, Broxburn and Shotts.
