Skara Brae 

Skara Brae is an overture inspired by the ancient monument in Orkney, which bears the same name.  The musical is heavily rhythmical and in places has prominent harmonic clashes, reflecting the exposed nature of the place.  There is also a more melodic section which features euphonium and cornet.
