The Farmer's Boy 

The Farmer's Boy is an arrangement of the traditional air, which is stated by the cornet soloist, then is treated in various ways by the rest of the band, giving everyone a chance to display their skills.  Mainly in 2/4, with sorties into other time signatures.   This piece was originally written for (and was a prizewinner in) the test piece competition for the Rothman's Brass in Concert Championships – so it’s quite demanding.  3’ 50” Listen to MP3
