Band - "The Tay"

The River Tay is the longest river in Scotland, flowing about 120 miles from its source on the north slopes of Ben Lui to the North Sea beyond the city of Dundee. I’ve selected four places in the course of the river as the inspiration for the music. There's more information here

Band - "Shapeshifter"

"The Lange Wapper"  or Shapeshifter is a legendary figure from the city of Antwerp. His origins are unknown, but he is an interesting figure. Read more about him and this descriptive tone poem here

Band - "Heart of Darkness"

Another tone poem, this time based on Joseph Conrad's novella, Heart of Darkness. This version doesn't follow the narrative closely, but deals with the process of colonisation. Go here for more information

Band - "The Fair Rosamund"

This piece is a tone poem based the story of Rosamund Clifford who became a mistress of King Henry II, and is thought to have died around 1176 in a convent at Godstow near Oxford. Go here to find out more

Orchestral versions

The Queensferry Suite, Moonfleet  and The Admiral Benbow  are now available in editions for full symphony orchestra. Go here to find out more
